Shannon + Jon: 06.02.07

Have you ever met a couple and just known, 100%, with no doubts that they were meant to be together? That is exactly how I would describe Shannon and Jon.

Shannon and Jon were married in Lexington, Kentucky on a gorgeous, early summer day at Talon Winery. The ceremony was on a patio overlooking the vineyards and rolling Kentucky hills. The reception was inside the barn at Talon with plenty of family, friends, flowers, candles and tons of hanging lanterns over the dance floor (over 70 of them!)

Because we had planned to have the ceremony outside, we spent most of the afternoon with an eye towards the very overcast sky – Mother Nature apparently heard my pleas and the rain disappeared, the temperature dropped and the humidity dissipated (as much as it can dissipate in Kentucky in June!). It wound up being a perfect summer evening.

Shannon and Jon had only family in their wedding party – Shannon’s little sister (who most people commented, myself included, looked like her twin) and brother were her bridesmaid and man and Jon had his two brothers as his groomsmen. I love when family takes an important role in weddings – it makes things very intimate and wonderfully familiar.

Since they saw each other all day – during set up and then during pictures before the wedding – both Shannon and Jon were beautifully calm and relaxed. In fact, Jon kept telling me how stress free he felt – always a good thing for a coordinator to hear!

Shannon and Jon were the last two off the floor at the end of the night – many people actually went back to Jon’s parent’s house for an after hours party! This crowd did not want to go home!

Pictures of this fantastic couple coming soon from Clay Jackson!

I am so very glad that the wedding went so beautifully, but so very sad that it is over! This was my last wedding before this little girl is born and I could not have picked a better couple to finish out my wedding season – I feel like I really went out on a high!

“Finally found the love of a lifetime!”
