Friday Favorites: 03.01.13

So, what did you think of the Oscars?  I have a total girl crush on Jennifer Lawrence but I fall down a lot so that’s understandable, right?

Favorite Gown: Okay, so let’s be honest – the model is gorgeous but a little…flat, shall we say?  On the right bride, this would be a complete bombshell / va-va-va-voom dress!   This gorgeous silk trumpet style gown is from Jim Hjelm.  I love the added interest from the black belt – it would be gorgeous with other color belts too!

Favorite Bouquet: I love sweet peas – they are such a ruffly, pretty, frilly, and feminine flower that I don’t see used all that much in bouquets.  Might be why I love the overload of sweet peas in this very sweet purple bouquet!

Favorite Boutonniere: If your groomsmen aren’t wearing jackets (maybe they’re just wearing vests or shirts with suspenders), stick with bouts on the small side.  This little number fits the bill perfectly!  Ranunculus, mini spray roses and (what looks like) wax flower keep this bout petite.

Favorite Cake: I have to be honest – I don’t love the florals on the top but I DO love that the cake replicates design on the invitation.  I talk to my clients about the design thread we run through the event and this hits the nail on the head!

Favorite Decor:  Once again, I’m a little partial to this one as it was from one of my weddings.  Katie and Brad’s Renaissance Rooftop wedding ceremony had this gorgeous ribbon structure from Flowers on Orchard Lane as their backdrop.  I loved the way it moved in the breeze that day!

Favorite Extra:  Can you guess what this is a picture of?  These are grains of sand!  Magnified to 250 times what the naked eye can see.  I think these are absolutely stunning!

Favorite Article: Magazine-Worthy Wedding Flowers: The Pricing You Should Expect.  Please, please, please read this if you even have an inkling of wanting to submit your wedding photos to a magazine or big blog.  Bear in mind that there are blogs for every budget but the BIG ones, this is great advice.

Happy Friday and have a great weekend!
