101 Things Update: 26 Things

Sunday, November 20th, 2011

I am about a third of the way through my 3rd round of 101 Things in 1001 Days. So far I have 20 items completed and 10 items in progress – just 71 left to go!

I decided to put a small twist on one of the items – #11 complete a 26 Things list from sh1ft.org.  Instead of taking new pictures as they suggest, I have gone through pictures from my past weddings and picked one for each item.  I am going to try do the most recent list with pictures I take over on my personal blog (craftbinge.com).

101 Things in 1001 Days – Round 3!

Friday, December 31st, 2010

I am so excited to share my 101 new things to complete over the next 1001 days!  Not a ton of carry overs this time around but a few items that I loved so much last time that I had to do them again – namely in the For Others category.  Paying for someone at the drive through is way more fun than it might seem!

You can see my list here and my past lists here and here!

I plan to update my progress here on the blog at least once a month and first up this time around is 82. Launch new website!  Hoping to have my new site up with tons of new eye candy in the next couple of weeks.

Wish me luck and happy new year!

101 Things Update

Tuesday, December 30th, 2008

I have gotten a few things done on my list – I am under 700 days now and have completed a total of 17 items on my list with 2 in progress. That leaves 82 to go!

Some recently completed items:

19. Visit Disneyworld
Randy, Ellie and I visited Mickey and Minnie on December 8 and 9, 2008. It was too, too much fun!

23. Join the Columbus Zoo
Grandma and Grandpa gave us a zoo membership for Christmas 2008.

32. Take Ellie to COSI
We had so much fun, we wound up joining back in October.

70. Cook Thanksgiving dinner
I cooked Thanksgiving 2008 for Randy, Ellie and me.

87. Create an editorial calendar for Weddings Unveiled
LOTS of fun stuff coming up for 2009.

98. VOTE in the ’08 Presidential Election.
Ellie went with me and got to wear my sticker after we finished.

99. Read at least 20 books a year (20/20)
Actually read way more than 20, might have to up this for next time.

That is it for now – watch for another update in a few weeks. I have some things in the works so should be able to add at least one or two more check marks!

101 Things Update

Friday, August 22nd, 2008

It has been shamefully long since I updated my 101 Things in 1001 Days list and I am happy to say that I have made some pretty good progress lately!

29. Teach Ellie sign language
Ellie and I took a sign language class at the Elizabeth Blackwell Center. I have been lax at keeping it up with her but it was still quite fun!

46. Participate in one Race for the Cure Walk each year (1/3)
Okay, so I cheated a little and “Slept in for the Cure” but it still counts in my book!

64. Make Limoncello
I did but honestly, I am not sure if it turned out as well as it could have. I had an issue with my container – it wasn’t quite big enough once I added the sugar so I had to split it and I think one bottle is sweeter than the others! It also took so long, I doubt I would take the time again.

69. Find a signature dessert
Blackberry Cobbler from The Best Light Recipe – fantastic book with tons of great light recipes that don’t taste light! This cobbler is very rich and super yummy!

73. Visit 6 new restaurants in one year (3/6)
I have recently visited Marcella’s, Northstar and Molly Woo’s.

75. Visit a farmer’s market
Have visited Worthington’s Farmer’s Market several times and joined Wayward Seed’s late season veggie and fruit CSA. Yum yum yum!

76. Have new brochures designed and printed
The ever wonderful Jenny at Seedlings created my new brochures and they will be in my hot little hands any day now!

80. Serve as a board member for ISES Columbus
I am currently serving on the Board of Directors for the first year of a two year term.

99. Read at least 20 books a year (12/20)
What can I say? I read a lot!

All these things bring my total to 10 things done, 3 things in progress, 88 things to go with 825 days remaining. I have a few more things on the horizon to finish this year so hopefully I can be at about 80 things to go very soon!

What to do with 20 lemons?

Thursday, April 17th, 2008

#64 on my Round 2 of 101 Things is to make Limoncello. The first step of that recipe happens to be the peeling of 20 lemons to soak in vodka. Once that is done, I will have the middle of 20 lemons.

What am I going to do with 20 lemons? Suggestions and recipes and such WELCOME!

101 Things in 1001 Days – Round 2

Sunday, March 16th, 2008

I finally got the list posted for my 2nd round of 101 Things in 1001 Days! I am very excited to tackle this list and feel like it is a good mix of different things – both in and out of my comfort zone.

I got a small jump start on the list and already have 3 done – only 98 to go.

24. Take Ellie on her first plane ride
We flew to Arizona on March 1 and home on March 8 – she was a great flyer and her ears really didn’t seem to bother her during take off or landing. She flirted with all the other passengers and slept like a rockstar most of the flights. It was a great first trip!

30. Start Ellie in swim lessons so she isn’t scared of water
Ellie and I have been taking swim classes at the Dublin Recreation Center – Darling Ducklings. Lots of singing, splashing around and generally having a lovely time getting used to the water. She also went all the way underwater and did great – she might take after her mama on this one!

12. Buy a Wii
Still setting this up but everyone I know who has one LOVES it! Boxing should be a good way to get some stress out. :)

101 things in 1001 Days…Round 1

Monday, February 18th, 2008

Well, Round 1 of 101 Things in 1001 Days is officially closed! It ended on Valentine’s Day.

Completed: 34
Postponed: 1
Not Completed: 66

Not great but better than nothing – just look at some of the fun things that I did because of 101 things:

*Learned to knit
*Played in the ocean
*Volunteered with Habitat for Humanity
*Bought a house
*Bought a car
*Bought a bunch of booze – see #62 for an explanation
*Was quoted in a bunch of media spots
*Wrote to my favorite teacher telling her how much she influenced my life

And best of all…
*Had a beautiful baby girl!

Be on the lookout for the 101 Things in 1001 Days: Round 2 – coming to a blog near you on February 29. I think Leap Day is a great day to start something new and fabulous, don’t you?!

101 things update

Thursday, November 1st, 2007

Wow, those 1001 days go fast.

I just updated my list and the current count is:

33 Things done – yay!
1 Things postponed
67 Things remaining on the list

Realistically, I can probably get another 20 of those 67 remaining items completed by the end date of February 14. The other things are probably going to go on my next list which begins February 15.

If you can help with any of the things (Anyone want to teach me how to salsa dance? Meredith U.?) – feel free to let me know!

101 Things update

Monday, March 12th, 2007

I got to thinking about my 101 Things in 1001 Days challenge and realized that some of the things on the list are going to have to wait until the next 101 Things because of the latest big news – 11 things actually:

4. Take tap dancing lessons
(not with this belly – I don’t think I could handle the bouncing!)

7. Learn to salsa dance
(I have lost any sense of rhythm and I doubt I could pick it up at this point!)

8. Try to learn to surf
(my center of balance is already thrown off, board + water…does not = me!)

13. Kiss the Blarney Stone in Ireland again
(not going to travel overseas while I am pregnant as much as I would love to)

15. Watch the sunrise and sunset over a foreign beach
(again, no foreign travel planned at this point)

18. Take Randy to Disneyworld
(will probably wait until this little one is older and can join us)

20. Go downhill skiing
(see surfing)

36. Go water skiing
(see surfing AND downhill skiing)

37. Run a mile without stopping
(not gonna happen)

79. Adopt another dog to keep Truman the Dog company
(will probably wait until the baby is a little older)

98. Ride a roller coaster with my hands up the whole way!
(they don’t let pregnant people on roller coasters!)

Plus there are also 4 things that might not get done based on where we decide to go on vacation before the baby is born – our Babymoon:

12. Bet $20 on Red in Las Vegas

17. Take a ride on the Maid of the Mist at Niagara Falls

22. Go to the Grand Canyon

23. See a Saturday Night Live taping in person

So, that is the update – I have completed 26 things with a few more that could be completed with a smidge of effort on my part. We’ll see where it ends up. I think the new list will be fun because I’ll be able to add “Baby Things’!

Halfway to #75

Monday, December 4th, 2006

75. Be quoted in at least 2 magazine or newspaper articles

1 down, 1 to go.

The January/February 2007 issue of Bridal Guide Magazine features an article called “20 Wedding Secrets.” 2 of those secrets are from yours truly! From the article:

15. Orchestrate.
Seven to 10 days before the wedding, call your vendors to confirm details. Give everyone a timeline of the day. The biggest mistake is leaving any of this to chance, warns Emilie Duncan , a professional wedding consultant in Columbus, Ohio.

17. Take a Break.
“If things get too tough, give yourself some time out,” says Duncan. “Walk away for a day, a week or even just go out with your groom-to-be for an evening. Trust me, your wedding planning will be there when you go back to it, and your relationship will be better off in the long run if you take care not to overload yourself or him.”

I am very happy to have been included in the article – so one quote down, one to go!
