Laura and Mark: Ballroom Reveal

Wednesday, November 28th, 2012

I just got the disk of pictures from Red Gallery of Laura and Mark’s July 28 wedding at the Westin in Columbus and I was so excited to go through them all. However, I stopped after about 2 minutes because I could. not. wait. to share these particular pictures.

Care to guess what Laura and Mark are reacting to in this shot?

That would be this jaw droppingly pretty ballroom that they were seeing for the first time – completely appropriate reaction, right?

So then, there is that moment that every planner/designer lives for on wedding day – the “oh-my-God-it’s-so-beautiful-I-love-it-thank-you-so-much” moment.

You’ll see more of Laura and Mark soon but for now HUGE thanks to Red Gallery Photography for the beautiful photographers, The Westin for the lovely location, Flowers on Orchard Lane for the gorgeous flowers, Lasting Impressions for the linens and chairs and finally to Laura, Mark and their families and friends for letting me and my team be a part of the wedding!

Black Friday Wedding Related Sales

Wednesday, November 21st, 2012

Happy Thanksgiving!  I hope you are surrounded by those you love and take a moment to pause and reflect on all the things you are thankful for.  I could make a huge list but suffice it to say I have much to be thankful for this year as in years past.  I sincerely hope the same for you and yours.

So once all the turkey is eaten and the family goes home, many people head to the stores for Black Friday!  It should be noted, I am NOT one of them!  I love people but I hate crazy crowds so I will leave all that to others and do my shopping on Cyber Monday or other days where deal crazed maniacs aren’t roaming the stores (not that everyone who shops Black Friday is crazed but come on, you know who I am talking about!).  More power if you venture out but I plan to be tucked in at home watching movies and putting up our Christmas tree.

Anyway, if you are planning your wedding (or event) I have a few local wedding related Black Friday deals to share – visit their respective websites for contact info.

GOWNS: Luxe Redux Bridal is having a White Friday sale.  They bought a closing bridal store’s inventory and are having a huge under $1000 gown sale with over 75 gowns priced 40% to 75% below their normal retail.  They will also have their full inventory of high end consignment and sample gowns ranging from $1000 to $3000 available as well.

MAKEUP: Brideface is offering 20% off gift certificates for their FACEing makeup lessons.  I might just treat myself to this one!  Email or  call Nancy.

PHOTOBOOTH: Shutterbooth in Columbus is offering their whole shebang service of 4 hours of photobooth, a memory book, props and custom logo on the photo strips for $745 – that’s over $100 off!  Email or call Brian.

PHOTOGRAPHY: Adam Lowe Photography is offering $500 off wedding inquiries/bookings, portraits are $175 (down from $250), and products like prints, canvases, discs and albums are 35% off.  Contact Adam – this deal runs from 12 noon on Friday through Sunday at midnight.

Finally, my lovely friend Liene at Think Splendid has put together a list of lots of fun wedding and home related deals for Small Business Saturday – be sure to pop over and take a look!

Once again, Happy Thanksgiving!  Enjoy every bite of turkey (or tofurkey) and potatoes and pie with those you love!

Calphalon Warehouse Sale – Columbus, Ohio

Saturday, November 3rd, 2012

If you are in the market for ANY Calphalon products, you need to head over to the Calphalon Warehouse Sale going on at Northland Plaza Shopping Center – 2605 Northland Plaza Drive, Columbus, 43231.  The sale is going on Sunday, November 4 and then Thursday, November 8 through Sunday November 11 from 10 am to 7 pm.

I went over to take a look and it is absolutely worth the trip over – they have every baking pan you could think of (cupcake, cake, cookie sheet, bundt pan, you name it!), cast enamel Dutch ovens, open stock non-stick and stainless pots and pans, utensils, knives, appliances, and even a smattering of Rubbermaid items.  They also have multi-piece sets for $100 and $125 – both stainless steel and various types of non-stick – these usually run anywhere from $300 to $500!

If you are looking to finish off a set of cookware that you didn’t get off your registry or you have a wedding coming up and want to give a great gift, head over – it will be well worth your time!  Happy cooking!!
