Postage Increase Reminder

foreverstamp

Today, tomorrow and Saturday are the last days to buy forever stamps at the lower 42 cent rate.   First class stamps go up to 44 cents on Monday, May 11.  It might not seem like a big deal but it adds up over the course of a wedding.

Let’s say you mail 150 wedding invitations, 20 rehearsal dinner invitations and 250 thank you notes.  Buying the forever stamps at .42 cents will save you $8.40.  That’s two coffees at Starbucks or a British glossy wedding magazine or lunch with your best friend to talk about wedding plans or safety pins and a sewing kit for your emergency kit.

Anyway, go buy stamps and save yourself a little bit of money – every little bit helps when it comes to weddings, right?

Wedding Emergency Kit Must Haves

Wednesday, May 6th, 2009

A small confession – the packing list for the emergency kit that I take to weddings is 5 pages long.  I am often teased by bridal parties and other vendors that I could very likely take over a small country with the contents of my emergency kit.  What can I say?  I like to be prepared!

Obviously my clients don’t need to worry about any last minute emergencies that might come up on their wedding day but if you don’t have a wedding planner, you should put together a small emergency kit of your own.
