Dear Emilie,

Thank you so much for helping us plan the perfect wedding. We couldn’t have done it without you.

We are constantly getting compliments on how it was the best wedding our friends and family ever attended and also that it had the best food of any wedding they had attended as well.

When we talked about how we wanted the wedding to have a relaxed tone reminiscent of a 1940′s family reunion, but still elegant, I couldn’t imagine how to go about making it real. Your suggestion of using Moxie the restaurant not only incorporated our love of good food but also added a delightful sense of whimsy. The morning ceremony followed by a luncheon also helped capture the feeling we were going after as well as helped to maintain our budget.

Your guidance and suggestions for florist and photographers helped us understand what we should be looking for in other service providers and we knew we could rely on you to weed out the vendors of questionable quality and only recommend people who maintain the same level quality as you hold yourself. It was wonderful knowing I was working with someone I could trust so implicitly.

Your tactful suggestions on how to handle the well intentioned suggestions of various relatives also enabled us to keep control of the event and make it a truly personal expression of who John and I are as a couple. Being able to maintain that control without leaving a path of bruised egos in the wake really enabled everyone to enjoy the wedding to the fullest. It also helped us with our other goal of not having a wedding which would end being reported about on the Howard Stern show.

Your expertise and helpful suggestions for reasonable alternatives helped us to maintain our budget and our sense of humor. That you were able to help us achieve all of these things with my crazy travel schedule only endeared you to us more. We are eternally grateful, and would be happy to recommend you to anyone and everyone. We’ve already told all of our engaged friends to call you.

We look back on our wedding with pride and joy. Such wonderful memories are truly a gift and we have you to thank for making it feel so effortless.

I have blogged about Coco Myles in the past – love that you can custom design your own bridesmaids dresses and the prices are rather reasonable with lots of options BUT they only offer solid fabrics, not a pattern in sight.

Well, I found another option that offers patterns – Studio 28 Couture. They only do short and tea length dresses and are a bit more expensive ($200) but they have TONS of patterns that would be great for a garden or beach wedding or you could just do the skirt ruffle in a fun print for a more traditional wedding. This site would be a great place to design your rehearsal dinner dress too!

Those of us who are…*ahem*…blessed in certain areas sometimes have issues with those cute wrap tops and dresses or tops with a low V showing a little more than we would like. I have been known to take safety pins and work something up at the last minute but it seems like they always slip or show and just ruin the cute factor. I have had more than one bride complain about it for their Rehearsal Dinner dresses too!

Enter the Bosom Button:

A cute little crystal or pearl that replaces the good old safety pin – looks good and holds your shirt closed so you aren’t over exposed. I am going to order some and will let you know how they work!

Once again, USPS is raising their prices right before wedding season! Now it is only going up a penny for first class mail to 42 cents from 41 cents so it probably isn’t going to impact your wedding budget too much BUT you want to make sure you have the right postage so everyone actually gets their invitations.

You can check this off the worry list if you go buy Forever stamps which can be purchased for 41 cents right now and will be good no matter how much or how often the postal service raises prices. If you aren’t bothered by the fact that all the Forever stamps are Liberty Bells, you can save yourself a buck or two (literally) and some stress by planning ahead.

Note: even if you mail the invitations before the rate increase, you still have to think about the RSVPs – if your RSVP date is after May 12, you need to include the extra postage! Maggie and Melissa – I am talking to you guys!

You can now personalize the foils on the Dove Chocolate Minis with your own message.

These might be a little costly for a wedding favor but I can totally see them being used in a proposal. Just have them printed with “Will You Marry Me?” and give her the box – see how long it takes her to figure it out.
