Chocolate, soda and Kleenex

Thursday, July 26th, 2007

I think we have finally reached the end. Everything that can be personalized is being personalized.

You already know you can personalize Hersey Kisses and Jones Soda and M&Ms. Well, now you can personalize your own Kleenex oval box.

Might be cute in the bathroom at your wedding – just what you always wanted, huh?

Fun idea for the kids table!

Wednesday, July 25th, 2007

If you are having kids at your wedding, it is a nice idea to give them some fun activities to keep them occupied while the adult stuff is going on. One very common (and popular) idea is to provide coloring books and crayons for them. Instead of buying the coloring books, why not make your own personalized pages?

Fototiller gives instructions on how to create coloring books pages from your own pictures using Photoshop. You could use your engagement pictures, family pictures, pictures of your wedding and honeymoon location.

I love the idea of having each child color one of your engagement pictures as their contribution to the guest book. Have fun!

Long time no see!

Wow! I just realized how long it has been since I updated the good old blog. I have a good excuse though – I was in the hospital for 4 lovely days and 3 fabulous nights!

No, the baby has not arrived yet, she is doing just fine in there and for now is staying put. I went to the ER last week from what turned out to be a pretty bad gallbladder attack – bad enough that they had to admit me. Apparently it is extremely common in pregnancy because of all the crazy hormones swirling around! I had no idea how common it was until I started doing some research.

I didn’t have to have surgery right away (actually, I couldn’t because my belly is too big) but I will about 8 weeks after the baby arrives. For now, I have to follow a very low fat diet for the last 7 weeks of my pregnancy – no ice cream for me – and avoid fried and fatty food.

Now I ask you, what kind of fun is that?!

One good thing about being in the hospital for 4 days? I got to read Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows nonstop and not feel at all guilty. At least THAT was pretty fabulous. 🙂

It's Harry Potter Movie Day!!!

Wednesday, July 11th, 2007

There is really only one way to describe how I am feeling today:

There are very few that can make a 7 and 1/2 month pregnant woman sit still for 2 hours and 18 minutes – Harry Potter is going to make me do that today.

Yep, I am ever so slightly excited. Yep, I am a total nerd – trust me, I own it in this case!

On an even brighter note, just another 10 days until Harry Potter Book Day!

Happy 07.07.07!

Saturday, July 7th, 2007

So what’s your lucky number? Lots of couples are hoping that today’s date is their ticket to a lifetime of happiness.

07.07.07 seems like it should be a pretty lucky day, huh? Lots of brides and grooms have picked up on that and are planning to marry today. According to the Knot, there are over 3 times the usual amount of couples getting married today because of the calendar – 38,000 couples registered on their site versus 12,000 couples for the average Saturday during the summer. On top of that, I am willing to bet (see, there is a theme here) that Vegas is just packed with engaged couples wanting to be married on the luckiest day of the year!

I do not have any weddings today (I am done with weddings until this little girl decides to arrive) but had quite a few calls from prospective brides looking for assistance. I was also interviewed for 2 different articles about the date – one in Columbus Monthly and The Delaware Gazette.

Next year 08.08.08 falls on a Friday and while I am guessing there will be an up tick in the number of weddings that weekend over this year, I don’t think it will be anything like 07.07.07.

Happy wedding day to all those getting married today and Happy 07.07.07 to everyone else! Who knows? Maybe I will go play the lottery today – although I won’t play 777, that isn’t MY lucky number.
