Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving!

I am blessed this year, as those in the past, to have so very many things to be thankful for. I have incredible people around me: a wonderful husband who I adore, a supportive, loving family, a group of friends who I know would see me through anything. Of course, my awesome clients – my brides and grooms and their families and friends that I am lucky enough to get to work with. Can’t forget Truman the Dog (yes, I know he isn’t a person BUT since I spend every single day with him – he keeps me company curled up under my desk – I am going to count him among the ‘people’ blessings.)

Of course, there are also the material things I have been blessed with but as each year passes it becomes more obvious how the people I have in my life are what truly matter to me.

Count your blessings, have some turkey (or whatever it is you choose to celebrate with) and have a Happy Thanksgiving – I am off to bake Caramel Pecan Pies and Chocolate Chip Cookies to take to my MIL’s house tomorrow!

Jessica Claire giving away wedding photography

Thursday, November 16th, 2006

Jessica Claire, a super taleneted wedding photographer based in California, announced on her blog that she is going to be shooting a wedding for free next year.

Here’s the scoop:

The travel (if applicable), shooting, online posting, and album for the couple on my own dime. Here are the rules:

1. Couples must be getting married sometime in 2007 and have a set date and location.
2. You must send me your story about why you deserve for me to shoot your wedding for free along with a recent photo of you and your fiancee.
3. The final three couples and stories will be posted here December 15th for people to vote.
4. The winner will be announced on December 31st.
5. Email your story and photo to: CONTEST@JCSPHOTO.COM.

There are no strings attached–you won’t be charged tax, forced to buy anything else if you don’t want to, or anything like that. This is solely an opportunity for me to give a deserving couple something that I hope they will treasure. Feel free to send this entry to your deserving friends–I hope to find one really special couple to do this for.

To enter: Send an email with the following information to contest@jcsphoto.com

Well, what are you waiting for? Get to entering! If I were getting married next year, I would be all over this.

Ginnalea and Chad by Melanie Mauer

Such a cute couple! I love how happy they look here – heading for the surprise honeymoon…and if you don’t know Melanie, you really should. She is super talented and has told me she will travel to Columbus for weddings…

Why do boxes takes up so much room?

Thursday, November 2nd, 2006

I am still alive! The last 3 weeks have been more than a little hectic but there is light finally peaking through all the boxes and paper and moving debris that surround me – plus, we finally have cable and internet hooked up (the unpacking seems to go a bit more quickly with background noise).

My Mom and Dad were in town all last week helping with painting, wallpaper stripping, cleaning, repair and renovation. My Aunt, as well as some of our friends, joined the party to help with painting two weekends ago as well.

I left on Thursday for a weekend conference in Baltimore for Wedding Planners – got to see a lot of friends and made some wonderful new ones as well. It is always fun to get away with the girls (and one guy, hi Mark!) and talk about what is going on with weddings in different areas. Came back with some great ideas and some fun things to try – things Columbus has not even dreamt of yet!

Had a terrible time trying to get home – Northwest Airlines owes me big time!

The movers arrived on Monday and we have been unpacking ever since!

Thank you to everyone for the kind notes, the worried notes, the stalking (Grace) and the general love!

Lots of pictures and stories to come but for now, I should really go unpack the rest of the kitchen.
