If you or anyone you know has a bridal gown or bridesmaid gowns on order from a Discount Bridal Service (DBS) dealer you need to check on the status of your gowns ASAP!

DBS is filing for bankruptcy on July 18. They have said the following about orders:

Before the filing, the company will be shipping out some bridal gowns to brides whose weddings are close. Hare told us these goods will be ‘comparable’ to what was ordered, but may not be exactly what was ordered.

The attorney also told us the company was returning payments made for orders after June 15 (checks will be returned; credit cards were not processed after June 15). These checks will go out this week. NOTE: Orders and payments received BEFORE June 15 will not be refunded but become part of the bankruptcy.

Call your DBS rep and get as much info as you can, you may still be able to get the gowns but you need to get moving!

All I am looking for is a wave! That’s it! Just put one hand in the air, wiggle it back and forth and thank me for making room for you! If I am nice enough to slow down to let you into my lane because the one in front of you is BLOCKED, then just wave at me! Seriously, how hard is that?

Curiosity

How often do you see the same people again and again on the road? I started to think about this solely because of my repeated sightings of DR KEN. Dr. Ken drives a blue, late 90′s compact Toyota with a vanity plate reading DR KEN. And I see him everywhere on the east side of Cleveland. So help me, I have seen him at least 1 to 2 times a week for the last year. This raises questions for me. What kind of doctor is Dr Ken? Where does he work? Could he figure out why my knee has been bugging me if we happen to be stopped at a red light? Or maybe deliver my child if stuck in a traffic jam and in labor. (DISCLAIMER – I am not pregnant)

On a more global scope, how many people do we see over and over again but just don’t realize it?

While they have other fun ones, I love the green asterick – I mean my birthday is coming up right? At $20 per stickers, seems like a good present to myself!

The Cleveland Originals website will be offering their gift certificate auction again beginning July 14 at noon! There will be certificates from all 59 members available and they are 40% off – a $50 GC will be $30 and a $25 will be $15.

Hopefully I can snag one from Sage, One Walnut or Three Birds – I have been to Sage but have been bugging Randy to try the other two! We shall see!

I have been struggling with what to say here about the recent bombings so I will keep it short and simple:

London is a favorite city of mine and I have fond memories of traveling there with my Mom. Everyone affected by this senseless act has my sympathy and condolences.

I had the pleasure of working with the Northcoast Jazz Collective (and listening to them) last weekend. They just released a new CD and got a nice mention in Cleveland Scene Calendar. They also have a regular gig on Sundays at Fat Fish Blue from 6 pm to 8:30 pm – good food and good music, not a bad deal if you ask me.

If you are not a dog owner, you may have never heard of Greenies. They are green toothbrush shaped doggie crack treats meant to help get rid of doggie breath.

Truman had a killer case of morning doggie breath this weekend so we gave him one. Instead of chewing it like any other normal dog would do and like he has done in the past, he proceeded to carry it around in his mouth:

That green part is the end of the greenie. Afraid he may choke on the greenie, seeing as it was halfway down his throat, we made him drop it and eat it the right way.

Sometimes I think he does things just to be funny…

I have started to read book 5 again so all the wonderful details are fresh in my mind again.

Still the dilemma though, to pick on the 15th at midnight or the 16th first thing in the morning? I guess it all depends on whether I want to sleep on the 15th or not! Decisions, decisions…
